The United States Census Bureau will begin using the cloud e-signature solution developed by VASCO Data Security International, a member of the Electronic Signature & Records Association, to expedite its performance management processes and save money doing so.
VASCO announced on Tuesday that the Census Bureau had chosen VASCO’s eSignLive tool to authenticate its new automated performance management system. A news release from VASCO said the Census Bureau will save $1.2 million annually with the solution, which eliminates the need for paper and shipping during a performance review. For some of Census’ more remote employees, that process could take up to 90 days.
The Census Bureau has 8,000 workers in the field and 7,000 in its headquarters and region offices. VASCO estimates that eSignLive will slash turnaround in the performance management process by 70 percent.
Once fully implemented with Census’ performance management, eSignLive will then be used as an enterprise service, which VASCO says will benefit other processes and needs within Census.
“There is no single technology driving the digital transformation initiative — it’s about the convergence of multiple technologies and scalable solutions,” Tommy Petrogiannis, VASCO’s president for eSignLive, said in a statement. “Implementing best of breed solutions like eSignLive is a foundational first step toward an end-to-end digital government because it improves operational efficiency and creates transparency, helping drive home the importance of digitization.”
