In The News: Data center for electronic health records set up in Dubai

A new smart data center, which will help revolutionize its storage of medical records, has been announced by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
DHA says that they are now preparing to transfer all its data to the new center, to be used for storage during 2017. The center will be maintained by trained specialists, which allows the authority to store its data safely and efficiently by optimizing power usage.
Head of Health Information Systems Section at DHA Amani AL Jasmi said the center is equipped to store system information and statistics, medical records of patients and data related to visitors to hospitals and research and medical centers.
The goal is to facilitate movements of patients among healthcare providers, unify all medical records of patients and connect public hospitals and clinics.
